Elizabeth Ghaffari, author of Outstanding in their Field: How Women Corporate Directors Succeed (Praeger/ABC-Clio: 2009) will moderate the May 24, 2010 Los Angeles panel of Women in the Boardroom, part of a 15 city tour, organized by Sharp Upswing of Edina, Minnesota.

"Women in the Boardroom, formerly known as Women on Boards, is an executive leadership event designed to assist in the preparation of board service -– better qualifying you and connecting you with the right people and resources."

The outstanding panel of corporate board experts scheduled to speak at the Los Angeles event include:

• Janet Kerr (director at La-Z-Boy and CKE Restaurants) -- Professor and founder of the Palmer Center, Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA;
• Renee LaBran -- (director on several venture corporations) Partner, Rustic Canyon/ Fontis Partners, LP in Santa Monica, CA;
• Eva H. Davis (parter at Kirkland & Ellis LLP) -- founding partner of the LA Corporate Practice Group, specializing in mergers and acquisitions; private equity and corporate finance.
• Karen M. Miles (managing director in Houlihan Lokey’s Los Angeles office) -- head of the Financial Advisory Services business for Southern California
